From: pamela4848@juno.com We have a yearly Christian Christmas Tradition that I would like to share with you. (Note from Uncle Bridge: Although we don't discuss religions per see, this is article is, I feel, relevant to Christmas. If you wish to send an article about how you celebrate Channukh or other religious holidays during this season. I'll be glad to post them in that spirit. Each year I buy a gift for each family member at our Christmas Dinner table. After all the gifts have been opened in the morning, and everyone is dressed and I am scurrying around to prepare a wonderful dinner, they know, there is one more "special" gift waiting for them at the table. Our table centerpiece is the Nativity Scene. When we are all seated and the candles are lit, my husband tells the children about the Greatest Gift of All. Reminding them the reason for Christmas and why we celebrate with gifts. We also tell the children it is Christs' birthday and at times I have made a small elegant birthday cake for dessert. Then each of us take our turn and open our gift. The gift itself isn't important, sometimes wonderful, sometimes small, it's the meaning and the bond of being a family is what makes it meaningful. I have also found that the 'let down' after all the gifts have been opened is gone. For there is still one 'special' one for later.
