Energy Savers that need to be done 1. Seal leaks around outside doors with weather-stripping. 2. Put insulating blanket around water heater. 3. Fill leaks around outside windows and walls with caulking. 4. Set your thermostat at 68° in the Winter and 72° in the Summer. 5. Clean or change air filter once a month. 6. Keep all vents free of drapries, furniture or other blockages. 7. In rooms where the sun shines, keep drapes closed in the Summer and open in the Winter. 8. Keep windows, outside doors and refrigerator closed as much as possible. 9. In Winter use a spot heater to warm a room more than the others. 10. Use room humidifiers to help warm rooms. 11. In Winter, use sweaters and warm clothing if needed. 12. Drink hot drinks - like coffee, cocoa, tea, etc. 13. Clean cooling coils on refrigerator and freezer every 6 months. 14. Clean condensor coil on outside air conditioner unit once a year. Replace all incandescent bulbs with compact flourescent bulbs. 15. Clean light fixtures monthly. Dirt and dust can absorb up to 1/2 of the light output. 16. TURN OFF LIGHTS NOT BEING USED!!! 17. Do not use halogen torchiere lamps. They are a fire hazard. Use circular flourescent torchieres instead.
