Did you know that you can use bleach to take the color out of old glass
ornaments and then use paint to re-color them?  The ones I saw used 3-4
different colors of paint in a pearl finish.  You drip/drop color in the opening
and then when you have all the colors in gently rotate the ball to cover and
swirl the paints inside.  They used egg cartons to hold the ornaments while the
paint was being moved around and then when they were coated, turned then upside
down so the excess paint could run out of the opening into the bottom of the egg
carton.  The lady doing them said that it would take several days to dry because
of the closed space inside.  I want to try some, but have not found the time
yet.  I will buy the ornaments at yard sales or after at an after Christmas sale
to get them cheap enough to try this.
