WHAT YOU NEED a.. One piece of square paper or cardboard (approximately 12-inches by 12-inches) b.. Markers or crayons c.. One piece of colored construction paper d.. Safety Scissors e.. One brass brad f.. Non-toxic glue g.. WONKA NERDS HOW TO DO IT a.. Help your child draw a large circle on the square piece of paper (hint: use a mixing bowl to draw a circle.) b.. Using markers or crayons, assist your child in writing the numbers 1-12 in the appropriate places in the circle to make the clock. Explain to your child that these numbers represent the hours of the day. c.. Cut minute and hour hands out of construction paper and attach to clock using brass brad. d.. Using WONKA NERDS, glue individual candy pieces onto the clock between the hour numbers. Explain to your child that each piece of candy equals one minute. e.. Practice making different times with your candy clock. f.. Snack on extra WONKA NERDS while practicing. FOLLOW UP FUN a.. Practice writing out the times of day with your child. b.. Teach your child the concept of A.M. and P.M. while using the clock.
