The Treasure Within by Mystiblu The treasures of the soul are not always seen as diamonds but perhaps as coal waiting to be discovered. ~Mystiblu Remember the stories of a great treasure hunt, of finding a treasure chest filled with gold and jewels? It was something people dreamed of, finding a fortune, being rich and having their wants and desires. Maybe the true story is about what treasure we hold within, about our dreams, hopes and desires that are deep in our hearts. Imagine going into yourself, where it may be dark, walking over to a treasure chest and slowly but expectantly turning the key and opening it. If it could hold anything you wanted, what would your treasure chest hold? Often, people think they know what they want in their lives. They walk around, wondering why they don't have this and don't have that. They ask why bad things happen to them, and may not see all their blessings. Even when we are aware of the good things, and we share with others, we will all have our times when we wonder what's in that treasure chest, just waiting to be opened. There are always changes and new things coming along. When we peek into that chest, called our hearts, we will see and feel the light pour from it, awakening us and opening our "spirit" eyes. With time we may become aware that we can manifest many things in our lives that we desire, want and need. What is the key you need to open your own treasure chest? The key for me was that I had to heal myself. My spirit had been hurt, bruised and damaged, almost broken. I was miserable, unable to find answers, no matter where I looked or whom I asked. My life almost came to a screeching halt and something changed. I took a long look at myself, my life and the people around me. I realized that it was not my body or mind that needed to heal, but my spirit. At that very moment, I was able to understand. Just the realization was astounding. I wept tears of joy to know that many things that had happened in my life were not my fault, that I was not a bad person, and that I could be healed and learn to live a new life, with Spirits help. I also learned, with time, that I am responsible for my own happiness, not anyone else. I found my treasure for that moment, which was my awakening. I have since then taken the opportunity to find my own path and learn, study, heal, share, teach and reach and attain many of my hopes and dreams and Spirit helps me every day to know that this is just the beginning. Since then, I have had many mountains to climb, but I have also tasted sweetness when I help others and do what I feel I am here on this earth to do. With each day, my heart sings, even when life comes at me from all sides with obstacles. What's in your treasure chest? Have you taken a peek lately? What would you like to add to it or toss out? I bet there are quite a few treasures there just waiting for you!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fran Hafey (Mystiblu) is a Reiki II Practioner, writer, Spiritual Counselor and teacher.
