Create Excitement For Your Product by Judith Tramayne-Barth What's great about the Internet is you can create excitement for your product if you think outside the box and/or think like Joe Vitale or one of the other Internet marketing gurus. They don't just say "here's my product" and I hope you will buy -- they create excitement. How? They do up a promo ahead of time and get everyone stirred up to take a particular action on "one day." It's made them thousands of dollars. Now how can you -- a relative unknown -- do the same? Well, you probably can't because you don't have their networking capabilities but you can do something equally as good. You can create excitement by having a **yearly** sale just like the brick and mortar stores do. For Instance: A company emailed me and said, "we have 10,000 CDs we would like to liquidate fast. Plus the software programs can be downloaded. Do you have any idea of how we can tie these two together and get a cash flow going immediately? The first thing which came to mind was sending out a promo to lists I'm on and the second was using eBay to auction off the CDs. Only I don't know squat about eBay but I have a friend who does. He's been selling for years on eBay and has a stellar reputation with over 4000 entries. So I approached him. He said sure because he knew the promo I would write would send prospective buyers to his dutch auction page on eBay. It creates excitement. The top third of the promo tells people they are getting "great" software for 1/3 the normal price and a sense of urgency (time limit) was included which should entice them to click on the links. By giving two links, I've tied the company's downloads and the CDs into the same promo. You can do the same with your products or service. Since you will only be sending this out to lists you are on (once you ask the list owner's permission) or your own email lists, it won't be considered spam. Also in the promo, I suggested people share this information with their friends so viral marketing takes over. Everybody likes a good deal :-) The next step is to **ask** your friends, relatives to help you spread the word. Granted they do not have "email" lists like the top gurus do but they do have address books filled with names and most will be on lists in topica or yahoogroups you aren't on. You'll be surprised how much help they can be! The trouble with most small entrepreneurs is they don't realize the marketing assets they have at their disposal just waiting to be tapped.
