BODY SPLASH Vodka 2 tsp. White wine vinegar 4 oz. Spring water 2 cups essential oil for scent (some combinations to follow) First, blend the essential oils together. Add them to the vodka and shake well for as long as you can. Leave them all to settle, then add the vinegar. Pour the whole mixure into 2 cups of spring water and again shake well. Finally, pass the liquid through a paper coffee filter. The longer you leave the essential oils in the vodka and vinegar mix before adding to the water, the stronger the scent will be. It can be splashed on the body anytime, or put in a spray bottle and sprayed on. No oily residue left on the skin. They can be used as bactericides and deodarants too, depending on the eo's that you use! Here's some scent combinations: DEODORANT SPLASH INVIGORATING SPLASH 5 drops Lavender 10 drops Lime 5 drops Sage 10 dropsLavender 5 drops Lemon 5 dropsPeppermint 5 drops Rosemary 3 drops Lemon 3 drops Peppermint 5 drops Grapefruit SOOTHING SPLASH FRUITY SPLASH 10 drops Benzoin 10 drops Orange 2 drops Nutmeg 5 drops Lemon 10 drops Sandalwood 10 drops Mandarin 5 drops Geranium 5 dropsGrapefruit Just something different. Lavender and tea tree are antibacterial and patchouli is antifungal--even though I'm only using a tiny bit, I'm sure it can't hurt and might help. I keep a coffeecan full of the stuff around, and put some in a Ziploc bag if I am travelling. So far, no Customs person has demanded that I surrender it; and the scent would make it obvious it isn't contraband narcotics anyway. Pat or rub a little cornstarch under each arm after showering and/or before getting dressed. Especially useful in hot weather. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - * Exported from MasterCook * Deodorant Stick Recipe By : Jen Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Deodorants Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 ounce powdered herbs of choice 2 ounces talk substitute, e.g. kaolin, arrowroot 2 ounces cornstarch 1 ounce baking soda 1 ounce chlorophyll 2 ounces alcohol 2 ounces distilled water 8 ounces beeswax or 4 ounce beeswax and 4 ounces cocoa butter or 8 ounces carnuba wax eos of choice Mix the dry ingredients with the alcohol. Best herbs to use for this purpose are rosemary, sage, lavender, spearmint, thyme or yarrow. Bruise the leaves of some fresh herbs and place in a jar with apple cider vinegar for approx 10 days on a sunny windowsill. Strain and bottle. Dilute 2:1 with water (the 2 being the water). - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - * Exported from MasterCook * Lemon and Coriander Deodorant Recipe By : "Neal's Yard Remedies" Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Deodorants Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 6 tablespoons witch hazel 2 tsp vegetable glycerine 2 drops clove eo 2 drops coriander eo 5 drops grapefruit eo 2 drops lavender eo 10 drops lemon eo 5 drops lime eo 5 drops palmarosa eo A refreshing and effective deodorant. These ingredients are sufficient to make 100 ml / 3-1/2 fl. oz. 1. Mix the withch Hazel and Vegetable Glycerine together. 2. Add the Essential Oils and mix in. 3. Store in a dark glass bottle, preferably with an atomizer spray, for up to 6 months. ***** see the difference in dilution between that recipe.... 21 drops of EO dispersed in 3.3 ounces (100 ml) of carrier, as opposed to a two teaspoons of EO in about two ounces (give or take) of carrier? This recipe sound like it would be effective, altho I would have chosen different EO's...more antibacterial, and omitted the clove as too irritating for sensitive underarm skin. but the dilution is RIGHT ON TRACK! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - * Exported from MasterCook * Quick Deodorants Recipe By : Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Deodorants Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- ***** NONE ***** Quick Deodorant Powder 1 cup talcum powder 1 cup arrowroot powder 2 teas baking soda Quickie Deodorant Splash witch hazel under arms Deodorant Powder (when you have time) 1/2 cup unperfumed talcum powder 1/2 cup arrowroot powder 1/2 teas ground cloves 1 tablespoon ground corinder seed 1 tablespoon dried and powdered sage leaves 1 tablespoon dried and powdered lavender flowers 1 tablespoon dried and powdered rosemary leaves 20 drops of lavender and clary sage eo 10 drops of rosemary and patchouly eo Mix powders, herbs and spices together.
