Frugal-Folks-Life is our eMail List that feeds this
website. Everyone is welcome to join and chat about
frugality and life in general... - Uncle Bridge

Everyone seems to be hollering one way or the other today about emergency
preparedness. However, emergency preparations could be one of the best
investments a frugal family could make. Disasters come in all shapes and
sizes and no one ever knows when one will hit. Whether it is a fire, flood,
tornado, earthquake, or even a riot, it pays to do as the scouts teach our
children; "Be Prepared."
Emergency preparedness ranges from 72 hour supply kits for each family
member to emergency kits in vehicles to a one or two year stock up like the
LDS (Mormons) are taught to do. They are taught to save a little each
month until they have saved all their supplies in a year. After that as
the supplies become dated they are used and replaced. That way, everything
is always reasonably fresh.
